Mission Statement
"Cúnamh, inspired by the Mission Statement of Bon Secours, in response to the need for support to assist people to live with cancer."

Cúnamh began in 1996 when a group of patients got together to provide support to one another while undergoing treatment.

Through fundraising, Cúnamh has provided funds for the provision of one to one counselling, transport for patients, weekend breaks, complementary and integrative therapies, support for cancer research and a bi-annual Information Day.

Cúnamh volunteers are available to talk with you, either in the ward or the Relative’s Room. They are non-medical people who are/have been treated for cancer and are backed by the professional staff on the corridor. If you would like to talk to one of the volunteers, speak to any of the nursing staff on St Bernadette’s Ward.

We meet once a month. This gives us a chance to talk about cancer and the related issues relevant to patients.
